BEACHES

Green and turquoise water, white sand, exceptional natural beauty and beach bars, are the elements of Halkidiki beach life. Both exotic and hospitable, awarded with 89 blue flags for the quality of beach and service, Halkidiki presents its 550 kilometers of beaches, competing one another in beauty. Dive in crystal water, relax and become part of the landscape with the sandy beaches and green pine forests!

In the Cassandra peninsula there are impressive, vast beaches with turquoise blue water, organized, with beach bars and facilities for water sports. There is also another part that is still unexploited and offers serenity and privacy to those who dare to explore in an uncompromising way. From Sani, Fourka, Posidi, Paliouri, Kallithea to Pefkohori, Haniotis, Kryopigi, Cassandra is enchanting.

You can dedicate one day to discover the second peninsula: Sithonia. Great beaches, like Armenistis, Calamitsi, Criaritsi as well as Kavourotrypes, the small island of Ammouliani and Sarti, a meeting place for surfers from around the world.

We present only three of our favorite beaches:

Posidi

It’s about half an hour’s drive from Kallithea and is one of the most impressive beaches of Halkidiki. The name of the beach (Pharos), at the southwest edge of the peninsula, derives from a lighthouse, built in the 19th century. Its definitive characteristic is the 1 km long sandy cape, between two seas. The ideal places for a romantic sunset.

Glarocavos

A lagoon south of Pefkohori, an exotic landscape, different from the usual and expected. The beach is organized, with beach bars, but has also its quite spots. It is a place worth visiting. A scenery that brings to mind pictures of paradise.

Paliouri

Also called Chrousso, a 1.5km long beach and crystal shallow water. The vegetation is rich enough for shadow during the day, sun beds and umbrellas are also available. You may also have a drink or coffee at the beach bars. Coursaros is the most famous of them.

Whichever beach you chose to visit, you will not be disappointed. As people from Thessaloniki say: there is no place like Halkidiki!
